West Yorkshire Scouting is situated right in the middle of the UK. Scouting here takes place amongst some of the best outdoor activity locations in the whole country - bordering the Peak District, the Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales - there's plenty of access to fast rivers, mountains and cave systems. What more could we ask for! The County covers three metropolitan councils (Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford) and comprises of 14 "districts" with Wharfedale to the north, Holme Valley to the south west, and then across through Huddersfield to Dewsbury. The county also has a number of resources aailable to support the districts including an activity centre with meeting faciliities, a shop, the county stores holding lots of kit to run activities, and a newly created county archive. |
