Have you ever sat and played in a canoe and thought “This is fun, I’d like to do more of this”? Or, have you seen others paddling and thought "I would like to learn?", then we'd love to teach you.

When and Where

West Yorkshire Scouts are running sessions in Sowerby Bridge on every Sunday evenings from 12th May until the 1st of July apart from the 26th of May. We'll start at 7.00pm and finish at 9:00pm. We aim to have enough coaches so that ....

Beginners learn to paddle a canoe or kayak and have a lot of fun, safely. Have a go in kayaks and canoes; play games and get wet sometimes.

Improvers progress towards the Canoeists badge – either Scouts or Explorer, ultimately venturing onto the river Calder.

What will it cost?

The charge for each session will be £3, which includes the use of all the equipment.

You do not need to attend every session, but the more sessions you attend, the more likely you are to get the Activity badge!

All participants must be over 11 years of age.
