The site on the outskirts of Huddersfield offers three facilities to Scouting and the business and voluntary community:

Within the Jubilee Centre, provision has been made for the administration of West Yorkshire Scouts to have a central home.

The West Yorkshire Scouts County Campsite, Bradley Wood, is situated between Brighouse and Huddersfield.

 

It covers an area of about 46 acres - 40 acres of which are natural woodland and the remainder open land.

 

Open throughout the year and caters for most recognised Youth Organisations.

 

The duty warden, or the manager can advise on camping and local matters.

 

There are 30 mixed camping areas - Patrol to District or County.

 

Altar fires are available.

 

In addition light weight tents can be used on many more areas.

 

There are also ideal places to bivouac.

At the end of 2002, after many years of fundraising and planning, the Chief Scout - George Purdy - officially opened this facility.

 

It is intended that this building will be used by Scouting, the business community, and other groups (i.e. schools and churches).

 

In addition, it will also be available for private functions.
