Welcome to West Yorkshire Scouts
The Scouting county of West Yorkshire supports youngsters and their leaders covering the metropolitan areas of Kirklees, Bradford, and Calderdale.
Having just celebrated the 100th anniversary of the movement, Scouting in this area is thriving and youngsters are enjoying access to a wide variety of adventurous activities in a safe environment.

Xtreme Monopoly

Xtreme Monopoly is Back!!! travel around the County using public transport and set with the task of visiting various locations around West Yorkshire – take photographic evidence and move on to the next location.

Beaver Scouts Fun Day

Cancer Research UK's Race for Life
Race for Life is a 5k walk, jog or run for women only. Since it began in 1994, Race for life has brought together 3.4 million women to raise over £200 million to help Cancer Research UK beat cancer.
This year's West Yorkshire events are taking place at; Leeds, Bradford, Huddersfield and Pontefract. The organisers are looking for local Scout Groups would be interested in volunteering to helping at this year's event, use the contact form for more information.

Super Heroes
Super Heroes is the theme for the County Cub Camp to be held in September 2008.

The Scout Association offers everyday adventure and activity to almost 400,000 young people across the UK. The Movement is the largest co-educational youth organisation in the world, with over 28 million Members in 216 countries and territories.
Scouting is open to all young people aged 6 to 25 of every faith and background. There are also plenty of opportunities for adults to become involved as Leaders, Assistants or Administrators. Read more...

In line with recent guidelines from HQ, the County eNewsletter (WYSMAIL) is now being published in the new friendly format.
Those who prefer just the text will not be disappointed as a text version will still be available.

Fire & Ice Camp
Over 500 members of the Scout and Explorer sections came together for an amazing weekend camp held at Bradley Wood.
It certainly lived up to being the Winter Camp when the overnight temperature dropped to -10 degrees. Pictures available here.

A Million New Adventures
The KidsOutdoors campaign helps more kids across the UK experience the freedom of the outdoors. We want to encourage a million new outdoor adventures.
KidsOutdoors is run by The Scout Association, which offers challenge and adventure to over 400,000 young people across the UK. Read more...
